How do I get into 5 axis?

Yes we have another Mill/Turn hitting the floor next Week with upper and lower turrets. It is an Okuma and it an used machine, but for what we need it is a perfect fit.

There are 5 axis examples that come with Mastercam when you can program all of those you are well on your way. Take the sample files and erase all the toolpaths and then program it. Compare what you did to what they did without looking then go from there. I got a lot of my experience just trying things and seeing what works and what does not work. Like said above 5 axis is not hard it is just more involved and a lot more to think about when it comes to fixtures, tool clearance, machine kinematics's, and then just being in a place where they have the machines that need to be programmed. Thing to also to think about is what may be a perfect toolpath on a certain type of 5 axis machine will not work on another type of machine. That is only something you will find out when you program that specific machine.
