File Open Window

Is there any way to change the default window when the view menu is set for "Details" in either the "file open" or "file save as" operations. I know that you can drag the column headers into a different position and turn the headers on and off, but they do not stick. Each time the a file open or save as window comes up, the column headers go back to the current default. My options for all non mc folders are already set to "Remember each folder's view settings".

I think this was covered before and that it was going to be fixed for XP but not for windows 2000. I think it was because , if I remember right, X3 will not support windows 2000. We'll have to switch to XP. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes there was a similar issue with w2k but I am running XP.

An other thing is the size of the window.

When i startup Mcam, i have to drag it to a comfortable size. That size stay till the end of the session. After each restart i have to drag it again!

Run the Control Panel "Mastercam Applet" and see what you tyhe settings on "Windows" or "Mastercam" for window size, etc.

When you OK (Green Check button) out of the file dialog, it does save the Details/Icons/List view mode in XP only. (This was was not addressed int Windows 2000 - as it will no longer be supported come X3)

I just tried it and it's working for me.

And this mode is also recalled between sessions.

 

*Custom Column Header layout ->

Doesn't appear to remember these.

I'll ask QC to investigate.

 

*Size of the File Dialog.

The size is only remembered during the current session.

You are correct Roger, I was not specific enough in my question. The mode stays set but the custom column header layout does not. I would reall like to see the date column and I don't use the size of type column very much.
