Pc hard lock caused by USB HASP?

Hi folks,

 

We're experiencing frequent hard lock of the workstation running Mastercam 9. Does it exist an incompatibility between USB HASP and Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard+PNY Quadro FX1500?

The hasp should not cause your computer to lock. I think that Mastercam only looks for the hasp at set intervals, and if does not see the hasp it will give you one chance to save before it closes.

 

Your computer locking up is probably another problem.

 

What OS are you running, how much ram, what type of operation in MCX causes the lock up, etc.

What OS? How much RAM? What are allocations set at? Have you tried loading the newer Hasp driver for V9 available from the Mastercam support web site?

it will work with this drivers:

You must only put the zip file in a new folder, unzip and start the *.bat file. New Drivers will be installed.

 

If it doesent work please reinstall the HASP drivers whith the command line "hinstall.exe -r". Pleas make a reboot after installing new drivers.

Hi all,

 

Finally we found the responsible for pc hard locks: it was the keyboard.

A very cheap USB keyboard was definitely not compatible with our motherboard. HASP usb key was cleared of accusations.
