Unigraphics conversion problems

I hope somebody can help me out! We received a CD with unigraphics files, and are having a terrible time trying to get parasolid or step models from the UG files.

 

The problem we run into, is that when we had someone convert them for us (yesterday), it just came in as 2D geometry. It looked like a blueprint with "top" and "end" views - and we are certain they should be a solid model.

 

We have Mastercam X2MR2 w/Solids, and Solidworks 2007 so if we could get any format that is compatible, it would be great.

 

We really don't know anything about Unigraphics, but have a feeling this will require someone that has a seat of it and convert them into solid models that are useable for us.

If you want to read in UG files, you'll need a UG translator. Ernie links to the Verisurf translator (free trial) in this topic.

Thanks Thad - I am downloading now, and hopefully this will work. If so, I'm sure I'll be contacting them for a "permanent" code.

Well, we may not be done yet Kannon (and Thad)... We downloaded the 30 day trial, but it said the time period had already expired. I have a call in to Verisurf, but if they don't call me back, I'm going to need some help! As usual, it's one of those "we needed it yesterday" type of things.

Hi guys - just an update. I received the temporary UG to MX2MR2 Verisurf code this morning, and everything is converting over with no problems (so far).

 

So just a quick note to everyone to say "Thank you" for your offers of help (and "thanks" to the folks at Verisurf)
