Does anyone use highfeed machining?

Does anyone use highfeed machining and if so, do you have three tabs when you pull it up? I am specifically questioning X2-MR2-SP1 users. Also, can you find a file in your system titled highfeed.lib?

I use the high-feed as well with some success. I use the roughing on my high speed machines and the finishing on my bridgeport VMC's. Doesn't do too bad of a job.

I do not have 3 tabs. Only 2. No highfeed.lib file.

My problem seems to be when running it on a simple 2-d contour, it increases the feedrate as the material to cut gets larger, where you would theoretically slow down the cut? What type of cuts are you doing and does it appear to be working properly?

I use the high feed with my Dapra cutters mainly when doing 2d pockets and surface rough pockets. It usually can knock about 40-50% off my cycle time. Keep in mind that the default tool under highfeed usually needs to be edited. I don't take a 1/2 cutter 1/2 deep full width. Make sure it is modified to the D.O.C. you are taking.

Doesn't scan NCI take care of that. Mine goes to the depth of cut in the file?

The scan NCI doesn't always work for me. Sometimes it comes up with the wrong D.O.C. I feel safer just editing the tool manually.

On your system, does it find the model for stock that you have created? For mine, I have to use an .stl for it to work correctly, it won't recognize the stock definition for my part.

I don't recall having a problem using the stock definition. I never have any luck with the scan nci for stock size. I prefer the STL if I have a block with holes or pockets in them. I spent alot of time on trial and error to get it to work.
