  1. Sorry for the late response. We did get this worked out. I had the A at -20 and C and 180 when I was probing the top of the part (setting workoffset H10). Once I had this point set I ran the following command: CALL OO88 PCA=-20 PCC=180 PH=10 PP=1 This calculated the point back to where it would be if the rotaries are at A0 and C0. Once this was done everything fell into place. Thanks for the help. It was greatly appreciated.
  2. Has anyone run into trouble programming an Okuma M460-5ax with 2 parts on a pyramid? Our CALL OO88 commands are coming up with some really crazy numbers. I know for 1 part on the trunnion your WCS is set to top. But what if your part is sitting at a 20 deg angle? That's where I get a little lost. I've created a plane on the top of my part and added values to the A and C rotary's to my WCS table in the osp to simulate a top plane but that made it even worse. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  3. I am still having similar problems with my Nvidia M4000M graphics card in my Dell Precision 7710 laptop. I am getting really poor performance with my menus opening very slow and my tool paths in my tool manager flashing white at me when when I start regenerating tool paths. I rolled back my graphics card to 369.26 and same issues. Mastercam is the only program I am having issues with. Running Windows 8.1 64-bit and a display resolution of 3840 x 2160. I have been struggling with this for too long so if I cannot solve it then I will look into sending the laptop into IT and asking for windows 10 to see if that will help. Thanks in advance!
  4. Never got it sorted out. I left the company about a year ago and I don't know if they ever got it sorted out either.
  5. Have you tried contacting Mitsubishi? Those 9000 programs should be available to you from Mitsubishi - you shouldn't have to develop them yourself.
  6. The image capture function will work just fine. I'm with a new company now and our IT guy is out of the country so it's kind of a pain to get software and add ons installed on my computer. Thanks for all the help!
  7. Stupid question - does Mastercam have the capabilities to export a screen shot of my model to a JPG, PNG, or GIF file? I know I can use the Windows snipping tool but looking for something easier. Thanks in advance!
  8. Ok. So it looks like I am the only one running one of these lathes. We did purchase the lathe back in June. It's a beast of a machine. 36hp with an 8" chuck. Fully programmable tail stock, parts catcher, tool setter, 12 position turret, and a Mitsubishi MELDAS 64 control. So far the machine has been rock solid. I've paired it with Tungaloy tooling and have been holding +/-.0002 with no problems. I've cut everything from CRS 1018 to 58Rc S-7 tool steel. My only complaint (so far) is tool interference. If my jaws are hanging more than 1/2" beyond the chuck I have the potential of a tool collision with a boring bar in an adjacent tool pocket. All and all I have been very happy with the machine.
  9. What kind of material are you cutting with these endmills?
  10. This is a standard 2 axis lathe with a Mitsubishi M64 control. I know of the 4 parameters that control the location of the tool setter but I don't see those parameter #'s in the macro at all.
  11. Does the RENAUTOTOOLSET macro require setting up? It came with my lathe and doesn't seem to work correctly (keeps wanting to travel in the wrong direction). The first few lines of code are as follows: O9012(RENAUTOTOOLSET ) (40120513.0E) #10=522(EDITFIRSTMACROSTORE) #17=2(EDIT2-DIA/1-RAD) Does #10 and #17 need to be changed to match certain aspects of the lathe? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  12. I have (in the past) moved my X Y origin .000001" in each direction so that it is different than the TOP plane but not enough to affect my code or my analyzed dimensions. This prevented the WCS from changing. HTH
  13. Is there anyone in the Mastercam world running one of these lathes? My company is looking to purchase one brand new. For those of you running them what are your thoughts about them? Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
  14. How do you get your program to slow down during cross lines? Do you have a special post mod for that? Our operators just slow the drill down for the entire cycle.
  15. Does anyone have some simple code to share to have an error box show up during post processing in the event that CONTROL comp is selected? We never use control comp here and we just messed up a mold plate because someone had control comp set with no offset in the control. Thanks in advance!
  16. That's what the project manager is doing as we speak.
  17. I have Solidworks set to CadKey when opening it and just sits there. NX8.0 cannot open it, neither can Fusion 360. Solidworks can open some of the drawing files but there are just lines and no text. Was hoping to open the files with our native software.
  18. Does Mastercam have a way to open a .prt file from Cadkey (circa 2008)? I received some files from a customer that I cannot open. I am trying in Solidworks 2016 but it's been sitting there for 1/2 hour spinning its wheels. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  19. I guess I was under the impression that a waterfall would allow you to take 2 cuts per Z level (like semi finishing and finishing) before moving to the next Z level. I have been looking for this for the longest time but even under HST Waterline I cannot find that option.
  20. I have not heard of this waterfall technique before but have been looking for something similar to this for electrode rib machining. Is this a 2D or a surface toolpath technique? Where would I find it?
  21. I bought a used 2011 Dell M4600 on eBay for $500 last year. i7-2.4ghz, 128gb solid state HD, 750gb slave drive, nVidia Quadro 2000m graphics. Best $500 I've spent. I use it with MCX and Solidworks. My only complaint is that it has 8gb of RAM but I can upgrade that when necessary.
  22. I agree with Matthew. It's the lack of wireframe toolpaths in MC4SW that is keeping me from making the switch. Hopefully one day they will decide to add them.
  23. When 2017 releases I will be making the transition to MC4SW. My biggest question is this - do those who use MC4SW program at the part level (sldprt file) or in at the assembly level (sldasm)? The parts I am programming are for plastic injection molds. Thanks in advance!
  24. You could modify the nethasp.ini file to look for a license on a computer that doesn't have the NetHASP mananger installed.
