Waterline Rough Core?

Is it possible to create a waterline roughing tool path that will lead in outside of the material? I can only see two options and that is ramp and spiral. I cant really create a lead in point outside of the material boundry since the tool path (some crazy looking path being generated here) leads in from every direction around the core imaginable.

Surface Finish Contour has options for lead in/out at each depth.

Would that work for a waterline roughing type routine? I need something that will act like a face milling routine that watches out for surface islands removing allot of material fast.

Can you post a picture of what it is you are trying to rough? Either that, or put a sample MCX file on the FTP site. Mastercam has a bunch of different ways to configure the roughing toolpaths. Seeing the shape you are trying to rough will help me recommend the best strategy.
