Accessing DWG file

My Mastercam PC crashed a couple of weeks ago and my local IT person wiped the hard drive and reinstalled everything for Mastercam 8.1.1 - or so she thought. I bought the DWG extension and thought I'd see the "put your access #" message the first time I tried to load a DWG file after it came back. Instead I get the following message - "Warning: Cannot find or cannot access DWG.DLL" - and I cannot load my Autocad file (Version 14).

 

What do I need to do to get my DWG extension back?

You need your access code, then do the following.

 

1 Run the Hasp80 Utility.

2 Enter the access code in the update field. Include the dash if present.

3 Click update

I had the same problem. Goto file/ next menu/doss shell. Type edit Dwg.acc.. open this file and type in your dwg access code. Worked for me.

Thanks for all your ideas. I've tried both suggestions.

 

Hasp80 wouldn't update with the DWG access code. I think this was already done pre-crash.

 

DWG.ACC didn't exist so I created it where you suggested, put the code in and it didn't help.

 

DWG.DLL does exist in the Mcam8Apps directory. CNCReg won't register this DLL - Keeps saying that the library won't load.

 

So I'm back to square one. This is a Windows95 system if that makes a difference.

Do you still have a CommonAcaddata sub-directory inside your Mastercam V8 directory? The DWG.DLL can not be loaded unless it can find the files there, too.

Note that DWG.DLL does not need to be 'registered', which is why you got error messages when trying that

Yes, I still have CommonACADData and DWG.DLL is in there. Anything else I need to check?
