wireframe question

I am having trouble making a chamfer with a ball endmill on an inside diameter. I can do it on an outside diameter or profile but not on an insdie diameter. Any suggestions? Thanks

Wireframe can be somewhat tricky (if you don't pick your geometry correctly). What I end up doing most of the time is after creating the toolpath (and alot of times it doesn't come out correctly) you have to play with the Across: cutter comp in computer and Along: cutter comp in computer parameters. Usually switching those parameters will eventually find the path you are looking for.

 

Also note: Make sure your first chain is the across chain and that the intersection point is last. I have so many times trying to figure something out that when all was said and done my two chains were reversed.

I figured it out I had to use sweep 3d instead of 2d. One more question the code is really long because its doing point by point how can it produce shorter code using radius moves like when it does an outside diameter.

ALT+C, filterNCI.dll

 

apply the filter to the saved .nci file

 

Mill toolpaths Import NCI, pick the filtered nci to import and then post that.

 

Even if you do not get all arcs you should get substantially less code

Im a little confused, how do I apply the filter?
