Post question, Canned cycle stuff

Hi,

 

I need a little help with post editing. This concerns canned cycles, specifically, G73 chip break cycle. What needs to be in a Mill post (FADAL) to force "PECK CLEARANCE", and, "RETRACT AMOUNT" values to be output as "J" and "K" values in the resultant g-code? I got it to output "I" as "SUBSEQUENT PECK" by adding PECK2 to the post.

First thing is to edit the [postname].txt file to enable the input fields in the dialog box. Then edit the post to format and use the variables associated with the fields. Hope that gives you some direction.

Hi Dave,

Yes this is a good start with the general procedure to follow.

I need to know what variable names are used for peck clearance and retract amount. I can use your advice after i learn those specifics.
