O/T Wireless DNC

We just installed [2] loaner wireless radios on the shop floor and hooked them up to our DNC; seem to work slick, but I'm interested in your positive and negative feedback regarding wireless DNC.

 

We're running Cimco DNCMax V5 with 34 ports currently and I'm looking at the wireless to neaten up the shop a little and to clean up some transmission errors that we have due to unknown electrical gremlins.

Have had good luck with wireless just have a few Access points for big shops.

Our shop floor is only 20K or so, with no walls dividing it, and our reseller says that they think we can go 300' radially from the access point; is that realistic?

we are just by a millitary airport and we can't use WIFI !

 

the army communications are too strong , it interfeer with cell phones and WIFI transmission

 

we dont want to take chances that the machines skip a couple of lines and crash !!!

 

so wires for every machines for us

300' Radial should be easy to achieve. I can detect my home router at 1000' and can get a decent connection at 500' so surely 300' is obtainable.
