HST holder clearance question

When using this function is there any way to get it to see the stock left on the part and have it avoid those areas too? Right now it just seems to avoid only the drive surfaces and not the stock you have left.

 

I am using a restmill toolpath, I thought doing that it would be able to see the stock and avoid it? Am I missing something?

You need to set the "holder clearance" to a greater setting than you "stock to leave". Make sure that the "clearance on the holder bottom" is on.

I can't find where to turn this option on.

I do notice the holder has the red outline all of the way around it except for the bottom of it.

 

Does this mean it is not checking the bottom of the holder?
