Eccentric Stock

RT,

Yes you can. If you have solids.

First thing you have to do is to create a solid that represents your stock and have it offset by the amount you need.

In stock set up click chain and then the solids box at the top right. This will now display the solid which represents your stock. Press Alt + S to toggle the solid.

To see the stock in verify. Click on verify, click on configure (yellow box 1/2 way down),under stock shape click on solid, click the arrow beside it and pick your solid. Click ok.

Use verify as normal and you should see your eccentric stock.

I am finishing up with a prototype for a new high end machined spinning reel. We plan to go to Florida next month to test them. Have you seen the updated Mastercam website? They are using a VanStaal fly reel spool I machined as a sample piece. Not the hardest part to machine, but its always nice to see something you machined outside of work.

I know what you mean. It's not so new for us now but the first time I say one of our reels on a tv fishing show I was quite proud. It's the same in fishing magazines. Whenever I am breezing through one I always take a close look at the reels to see if they are using one of ours.

Let me know if you need someone on Canada's west coast to put one through the paces here. biggrin.gif
