Using Groups To make a selection

Is anyone having a problem in X3 using Groups?

 

I made a group (set of surfaces), tried a transform Mirror and clicked on "groups" and picked the group. Ended my selection and set my axis for the mirror. Nothing happens.

 

If i go to groups, pick the group and hit View, it shows the right set of surfaces.

 

Haven't used the new Groups much since the introduction of X. Seems pretty basic to me, but maybe it's not Since it's not working as I expect.

 

Any one having problems with Groups?

are you selecting the groups through the group manu or the quick masks?

The quick masks are the way to do it.

Groups at the bottom right of the page will give you the result you have. If you access through the "ALL" selection method they will be selected and live for your transform.

Troy got it...

 

You can't select a group through the group function on the status bar. You have to go into the "All" selection dialog box, and use the 'Group manager' button to select the geometry in a group... Confusing at first, but it has been this way since X first came out...
