Proto track A.G.E 3

Im running a TRACK DPM A.G.E 3 with X2. Trying to do a simple contour toolpath when I try to run the progarm the machine gives an error 5501

and says no verticle mill event may immediately follow a previous verticle mill event. Can someone help me out.

We used to run them with v9 and everything worked out good. We couldnt use a caned cycle for drilling.

We also had to do zero sweep on leadin / out with contour to turn on cutter comp.

This is a z axis contour.

I don't believe Prototrak will let you do a Z axis countour. X and Y only.

You can do x/y, x/z or y/z moves. It has been a long time but we had to buy a key for the machines to run dnc on large programs. We made a lot of surfacing programs for prototype parts from pro e modles and they all worked but the machines were slow and so were the spindles. We had age 2 and age 3 machines so i know it is possible. post problem?

I have done lots of surfacing with a DPM Prototrak. Do you have the latest post? Usually the problem is it will create a large number of small XY moves as it will not arc in XZ or YZ. I have made parts with 6 or 8 separate programs since there is a maximum 999 events (on the older models).

Just curious- why would you want two straight vertical mill moves anyway? If that is what was posted the MC toolpath my have to be modified.
