  1. Mine loads in about 3 seconds.
  2. We use our pro e converter around 95% of the time. Some engineers create great parts but some don't. If we are bringing in a bunch of extra crap we try step files. Some times we bring in sweeps and projections with the pro e parts. Sometimes we bring them in as surfaces then do create solid from surfaces . Assemblys with many parts seem to be the worse because of association i think.
  3. It was an easy update and an improvement.
  4. On complex parts i sometimes get fatal error try turning down resolution quality. Sometimes it works sometimes it dosent. If you turn it down to low you can't see the part good enough to make it worth while
  5. We have fanuc oi-mb controls on some machines and if we have a tool change problem we go to systemkey/pmcprm/data/g.data/ to d450=tool in spindle to d452 magazine position. both numbers should be the same. Im not sure if yours is the same. We do not have pre stage tooling on this control. Good luck
  6. The ice storm update picture we recived from SFA looked like you would have a hard time just getting up the road. I'm glad things are getting better. Five or so days is a long time to be with out power, ect.
  7. We got our post from services four automation. good luck.
  8. You can do x/y, x/z or y/z moves. It has been a long time but we had to buy a key for the machines to run dnc on large programs. We made a lot of surfacing programs for prototype parts from pro e modles and they all worked but the machines were slow and so were the spindles. We had age 2 and age 3 machines so i know it is possible. post problem?
  9. We also had to do zero sweep on leadin / out with contour to turn on cutter comp.
  10. We used to run them with v9 and everything worked out good. We couldnt use a caned cycle for drilling.
  11. We have 3 daewoo/doosan dmv (verticle) machines. One is a 40/20 with an 8000 rpm spindle with 16 block lookahead and Two 30/16s with 12000 rpm spindles and 40 block lookaheads with box ways and spindle chillers. The only problem we had was the spindle without the chiller wen't out twice. We run them for 20 to 30 hours at a time near max rpm. The 40 block lookahead blows the 16 out of the water for speed and smoothness. My only gripe is the limited memory. I don't know if more is available? Most jobs cimcomax dnc trickle feed.
  12. The last place i worked before it closed we used disintrodes to burn out taps and drills. You get a chart for disintrode diameter, lbh-head vibrating settings, heat selection for taps from 0 to 1 1/2. q-head vibrating setting, drill size, disintrode diameter, heat selection for burning out drills from .040 to 1 1/2. Like someone mentioned above the hardest part of it is centering it so you dont burn your part. We only used copper disintrodes and the chart told you different size disintrodes depending on 2 flute, 3 flute and spiral for the same size tap because you are only burning out the center so the tap or drill will fall into pieces to be picked out. Yes you can do blind holes but as you burn your electrode gets shorter so you might have to do it twice after you check the depth of your first burn.
  13. I just updated to x2 mr2 sp1 and i cant find where to turn on the keys to size and center a dimension. thanks Tom
  14. We sometimes use a metacut program to verify code i think they offer a free demo version for ? number of days.
  15. we have one about 5 years old and when the printer went we had to get one off ebay. it uses the old dot printer and box of preforated paper. brown+ dull. good machine $hitty electronics
