Macro questions

I recently took delivery of a Haas VMC equipped with a Renishaw probe and I would like to create some custom routines using macros. With the software included by Haas the machine will ask for inputs (part width, length, etc...) before proceeding with the program and probing routine. Is this something that is typically done with macros or does the operator usually need an instruction sheet identifying the variables that need to be input and what they represent?

I am new to Macro programming and I have Peter Smid's book on the subject. I'm sure I will be asking several questions on this forum over the next several weeks as I try to actually create some of these programs.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob, all the G65 lines are in the Haas 's manual for probbing or the 9000 sub call out,

well to skip reading thru the manual, what you can do is creat the probinng, tool 's probbing on the software that came with Haas, then run it thru MDI, and you will actually see what the commands are, you then can either add one of the lines as " Manual operation" before the tool change of each tool, or before 1st tool of your program, it very helpful in some ways, well that the way how I did it, and it seem to be working fine....

Bullet Bob,

Renashaw published a couple of manuals for their probing system to help with programming Haas probes. If you contact Renashaw they can email you the manuals in PDF format.

Here are the part#'s

H-2000-6066-0B-A (Probe installation manual for HAAS VF series machines)

H-2000-6222-00-B (Inspection Plus software for Haas machining centres)
