plunge outside containment boundry

Thanks. Let me know if you find out anything. We had a job that was near the travel limits and it was faulting out on Y over travel. The work around was to turn off the plunge outside and do a ramp or helix. But going by where the edge of the block was in the Y travel, the diameter of cutter etc. there would have been enough trave if the lead in was a bit smaller.

Not to be a jerk but why are you trying to find this out? Either use point entry, or let it plunge outside the boundary. Is is something that is stepover related? I cant' seem to make it alter the lead in either, but it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal if I don't like it I use entry point. Am I missing something here? Like I said, no offense wink.gif
