Parasolid file ?, Diff. bet. X_T & X_B Files ????

Can anyone tell me the diff. between these 2 parasolid files and why one is used over the other?

For all pratical purposes, there isn't one that I can tell

 

The T in X_T stands for "text"

You can open a X_T file in a text editor and read it...

The B in X_B stands for "binary"

 

As a rule X_B will be a little smaller and load a little quicker..For most models there is absolutely no difference.. but in really large models you may be able to notice a time difference

On some really poor ProE models I was trying to bring into V9, X_B worked while X_T crashed during

conversion, but 99% of the time there is no difference at all.

File size is considerably different between the two.

 

x_t is a plain ASCII text file which can be opened and read with any text editor.

 

x_b is a compressed binary format and is handy for file transfers over the Internet and suchlike.

Thanks for the info, I suppose I should have opened a file to see 1st. We'll have to see which one works best for us over here.
