Work Offset

Hello every 1,

 

If you go under tool path parameters, planes.., tool path coordinate system, work offset. the number is -1. I would like it to default to 2, if possible. is there anyway this can be done. Tired of changing this. I am using X3Mu1.

You can go Control Definition=>Operation Default and set it for each operation type. Just make sure that you close Mastercam and save the the file to the desktop or something (you can delete it afterwards) then it should stick.

Open Mastercam=>Machine Type=>(Your selection)=>Settings=>Control definition manager=>Operation Defaults=>(Your selection)”Pocket”=>Parameters=>Planes=>Check Workoffset, input number=>”Green Check mark”=>”Green Check mark”=>Save(Disk icon)=>”Green Check mark”=>Yes=>”Green Check Mark”=>Exit Mastercam=>Save File to Desktop=>Delete File on Desktop=>Open Mastercam normally.

When setting your views and origins in "view manager"- goto Work Offset and place the number you require in this field

 

This number will be recalled when this view is used - you will also find this number will be shown at the end of the parameter line in each operation if greater than ( -1 )

 

If using different work numbers for the same set-up i.e.

set w/off# in view manager to TOP=1, FRONT=2, BACK=-1

WCS=TOP Tplane=TOP w/off #1 - outputs #1

WCS=TOP Tplane=FRONT w/off #2 - outputs #2

WCS=TOP Tplane=BACK w/off #-1 - outputs #1(by default)

 

This is not a permanent setting for Mastercam only for this file

 

If it is required as a permanent setting, your post will require adjusting, quite often "Misc Intergers #1" is used forthis feature mod.

Lars, I did what you said and it did give a #2 by the paramater folder. but if I go in tool manager, planes, it still is not checked and have a #2. also when I post it it still gives me a g54 instead of a g56. thanks!!

 

Superman, thanks but I am looking for a permanent fix, that can be changed on the run.

Graphite what is you Misc1 set at? what post are you using?

If you do as Lars said it will only work on ops created after doing this, not the exsisting ones.
