Mastercam X3 turn

Hi,

I am using mastercam x3 Turn, and kinda have a hit or miss with the solids recognition working correctly. I get an error message sometimes that won't allow me use solids when selecting geometry for tool paths. I'm using parasolids converted from iges in solidworks. Also using solidwork files, same problem. Any help is useful.

best thing to do is create curve slice to get the correct profile of the turnrd geometry

if the solid is too complex the slid geometry does not work

It wont let you select a solid if you have holes in the side of your part that run through the machining plane. If this is your problem than it will say something about parasolid data not being found. If this is the case you can suppress the holes in the solidworks history then after you create your toolpath unsuppress it, or you can rotate your part about the center so the hole is not in the plane. Other than this I have found no problems with a .sldpt file
