HAAS Rotary Table using M21

I have a HAAS EC-1600 HMC with a HAAS HRT-600 rotary table mounted on it.

We use a HAAS servo control unit to index the HRT-600. This requires a M21 to be inserted to the program where the table will be indexed.....no biggie I am also working on having my post output the M21 instead of the B move it does at present.

The issue I would like to solve is when the machine/EC-1600 sees the M21 it turns the spindle off. This is fine at tool changes but most of the time I index the part to machine a different feature using the same tool with the same spindle speed.

Is there a way to keep the spindle on when the machine sees a M21?

I talked with the haas tech support.

First thought was that the M21 relay was set to stop the spindle. We tried using the relay for M22 thru M25....same result, spindle stopped.

Second thought was that the M21 thru M25 were aliased....meaning there was a macro running when

one of these M codes was envoked....after looking at the M codes in the system parameters this was not the case....no macros were set to run with these M codes....spindle still stops.

Haas is still looking into why spindle stops.

Anyone.....any thoughts?
