Posting the quote character to NC

I'm trying to print a quotation mark into an NC file. Master cam interprets it as a part of the code. The post code looks like this:

code:

"FARCALL "BACKGROUNDSUBROUTINES.PGM" "CLOCKSTART" ", e$

"END DFS", e$

And of course I want it to look like this in the NC file:

code:

FARCALL "BACKGROUNDSUBROUTINES.PGM" "CLOCKSTART"

END DFS

But instead it comes out like this:

code:

FARCALL CLOCKSTART, e$ END DFS

Any ideas for this newbie?

Thanks for you help gentlemen, I was able to print the character. There is now, however, a new problem with the ASCII character:

When I use the 034 command a space is printed before and after the character which throws the mill controller into a fit. Is there any way to remove that formatting?

Is there any source for these sorts of information that I haven't found. Like a book or guide of some sorts? I've fallen asleep to Mastercam's Post Processor Reference about twelve times and haven't gleaned any useful information.

You want to add

spaces$=0

at the beginning of the block and

spaces$=sav_spc

at the end.

As for documentation there is a V9 post reference you can get from your reseller & there is some post documentation in the docs folder of your MC installation.

:edit: yea what he said again!!! bonk.gifbiggrin.gif
