Machining Impeller with 4th Axis

This is actually a question about MCX4. Is it possible to machine an Impeller using only a HAAS 3 Axis VMC with a 4th Axis Rotary Head?

 

I need to know in order to implement the purchase of both a 4th axis and a seat of MCX4 level 3 with solids.

 

I also need to know if there are any special modules or options to purchase to be able to do this. Mainly to make my life easier if you know what I mean.

 

I have seen through reading that there are a few problems with X3 so X4 is worth recommending.

 

If anyone wants a sample file feel free to contact me via email. I can send a STEP or an Iges. This is only a sample and not the model we want to machine, but it is very close.

Depending on what "shadows" there are in the part, then yes it can be done. Flick me an email with the model and I will have a look.

You will probably need the multiaxis module as well. Even though you will be working with only 4 axis, the multiaxis toolpaths can be very useful

I wouldn't wait for X4..a purchase of X3 with

maintenance will entitle you to X4 when it is released.

We have very few problems with the 3 seats of X3

running at my shop
