Solidworks Associativity

okay fellas, in the past I can Surfcam had this nailed pretty good however was weak at all else. I need to know how to properly save and open files to get a link between a solidworks model and mastercam to stay. If a part changes in the design directory I want a warning box to pop up to let me know model has change in Mastercam. Is this possible? Using X2MR2 with Mait agreement.

 

Also in order for it to properly work do I have to create a work coor on part where it is imported?

john does the part have to be in same folder? I am working off a server, and if i change the part in sworks save it, and try tracking it, it says no newer version of current file?

ohhhhhhh in tracking option I clicked off tracking box at top and something is working.

okay so it keeps original toolpathed geometry? and also I created some geo on another that is now gone........is there a tutorial for this, outside of trial and error?
