Posting to several machines?? Ideas!!

I have several differnt type of machines and was trying to figure out the best way to post to them all! Here is what I have!

 

 

2009 Haas SR200 Router

2008 Ona EDM Sinker

2009 Ona Wire EDM

2008 Omax Waterjet

2007 Haas VF3 W/Rotary

2004 Haas SL30 W/Livetooling

2003 Haas Minimill

2003 Strippit LVD750 Punch Machine

 

 

Some have Ethernet Cards

Some have USB ports

Some Have 3.5 floppy

and all have RS232 ports!

 

I would like to be able to post to all the machines from my workstation.

 

Any Ideas guys?

Ok, do you want to create NC code (run a post processor for a particular machine) or are you asking how to setup a communications network so you can send a receive programs?

 

Two totally different things.

 

What is your budget for machine communication? The cheapest route would be hooking up the RS232 ports on all the machines to some switch boxes.

 

A much better way to go would be to get Predator or Cimco for two-way communications between a computer and the machines...

 

To "Post" the code, you are going to need a Mastercam Post Processor that is configured for each machine...

Is the Predator something I would purchase through my Mastercam Dealer? And just roughly, not gonna hold ya to the cost but what would something like that cost?

Hey Colin, I would just like to post to any one of these machine with NC code. We had 3 seats of McamX as well and would like to send the job from work station to machine and then run the part.

Also, have a look at Cimco DNC-Max.

You can either buy DNC software (Predator & Cimco) or run some wire and use a switch box all depends on what you can afford.

Their are other sources, I have a local guy how’s system looks good and a lot cheaper.

You will still need a post for each Machine.
