Copying Levels

Hi everyone can any of you tell me the easyest way to copy a level from one file to a different level in a different file. I'm using X4. Thanks in advance.

This is what I do in X. Kind of slow, but it works.

 

Save the file you want to "copy from" under a different name. Open it up and delete what you don't want, then move everything you want to the 1st level, then save it.

 

Open up the file you want to "copy to" and move everything on the 1st level to a new level.

 

Now go to File, File Merge/Pattern, and select your 1st file. This will import it into the new file. Should be good to go now.

Try using "save some" select your level then

merge with the new file.

You can also do it this way:

 

1. Open the file you want to copy the geometry from

 

2. Select the geometry to copy then select edit/ copy

 

3. Open the file you want to copy the geometry to in a new mastercam session leaving the old session opened

 

4. Select edit/paste

 

If you make the level that you want to put the copied geometry on the main level I believe that is the level it will come in on when you paste it but check me on that.
