Small Arc Problem

Ive imported a DXF into Mcam. Its an engraving emblem with small arcs everywhere.Rad 0.19mm

Mcam displays these arcs as a zigzag and not a curve although they analyze OK.If I draw an arc it comes out the same.Im also having lots of probs with the tool path.(cutter comp not sucssesfull).Chain analyzes OK.

In a new drawing an arc drawn at this rad looks fine.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've had errors like that before, and I 've sometimes been able to eliminate them by switching off the "Roll Cutter Around All/Sharp Corners"

Give that a try and see if it helps

The .19mm is killing you.

Raster to vector conversion will fix this.

The largest problem going from a bitmap though an acad dfx is the entities are not touching.

Comp, whether used or not used will always branch at the unconnnected lines or arcs.

 

I believe a produst called tradesmen, or something like that will fix your problem.

 

I have also used an older version Coraldraw (Coraltrace) with the woodcut feature to do this task. Haven't used it for about six years.
