Bad Stl files with X4

I am trying to use an stl file created from a Mastercam file as stock. I used the "save as" command to save my surfaces as a STL, then I used it as stock to machine another part that I am cutting.

The problem is that when I try to run verify I get a warning about the STL not being watertight, and when I use the stlheal chook it is not usable. If I let verify fix the bad polygons the part looks terrible and is of no use to me.

Does anyone have any ideas how to work with verify with X4? I have tried to change settings to get a better quality STL file, maybe I haven't "stumbled" on the right one yet.

Am I wasting my time even tring to use verify with X4?
