WOW! I never thought you could move Aluminum like that with just 7500 RPMs!

Just did a simple .75 deep pocket with a 3FL E.M.

7500 rpm

215. IPM

18 % step over

.75 DOC

.2 Rounding R

.01 micro lift

 

The one (simple) thing I haven't figured out is how to chain or cut out an open pocket confused.gif

Can you not literally have an open chain? I've tried both solids and just simple geometry. Could someone please explain this process of properly cutting an open pocket w/o just tricking it by extending lines.....

Here are some tips:

 

If you chain more than one thing, the largest area is the cut area. Every other chain will be an "island" or something the tool will avoid.

 

In the example above, you must chain the big square, because you want to cut it, and the U shaped "island" because you want to avoid that.
