Stp File Level Mess

I rec'd a stp file this morning and I ran a level report to find the solids were distributed among 20 diff levels, unnamed levels at that. Is there a way to clean this up easily? Or do I have to go thru and move them onto the correct levels I want.

 

EDIT: This file was 2 stp files I merged together. It's one part, but why they were sent as 2 files I do not know.

When I bring in a STP file I don't worry about levels, cuz the names don't come thru and each solid ends up on it's own level.

 

For the things that I work on it turns out to be a bonus. If I brought in the native (inventor .iam) file it would be a real PITA for me, because I would then have to separate everything to it's own level anyway.

I'd call the customer and ask for a different format.

Sometimes the customer doesn't use the proper settings.

 

Ex.

I have 5 or 6 PRO E customers and 2 of them create

superb .stp files where the others come in all

untrimmed surfaces or both. (untrimmed over the actual model).

It was faster to just clean it up myself. Took about 5 minutes I know I know, shoulda done that before I posted
