5-axis multisurface problem

I am trying to do a 5-axis multisurface toolpath and I am getting the error "Machine does not have a programmable combination of linear/rotary axes to perform this operation". I don't know why I am getting thisa error as my machine, machine definition, and post are all 5-axis. Any ideas on how to fix this?

First thing I'd do is re-load the Machine Definition file and then try to re-gen the operation

This should refresh all your machine settings

Yep, this is almost always due to a corrupt MD in your file. The "Axis combinations" are a feature of the machine definition file. This feature allows you to setup groups of axes that work together. Sounds dumb, but it is used for multi-function machines where you might have X,Y,Main Chuck grouped, and X,Y, Back Chuck as the second group.

 

Selecting an 'Axis Combination' when creating your toolpath would allow you to switch which linear/rotary part of the machine you want to drive.

 

So really, there is nothing wrong with your toolpath, it is just a corrupt copy of the MD file in your current program.
