hello to all.

can someone guide me to the right link

if this is something already talked about.

or here is my question. when doing 4th axis

work i create new view for each angle of part

a90, a180. etc. ok all that is fine the only

thing i would like to see is my part rotating to that angle, and not my tool. i'd like my tool to

stay vertical the whole time. is there a way i can do that?.

thanks in advance.

No there is not. This has been this way for ever and looks to stay that way. You can fake it out by creating geometry for each operation then creating a Misc Integer to output indexing, but IMHO asking for a lot of extra work, more mistakes and crashes by doing it this way just so you can see the tool not change.

Sorry I do not have the answer you want, but this is one of you have to live with things ab out Mastercam.

Problem with simulate rotation is that it will only show toolpaths that do rotations as part of the operation in which they are made. If they showed complete movements when moving from one plane to the next for all these basic type 2d and 3d toolpaths then it would be great like what is being asked here. They will not show you left plane toolpaths, but if you do a 4th axis toolpath to left view it will show you that rotation then pop back to the other view it was at originally kind of defeats the purpose of allowing show rotation when it is selected to show it. I and many many others have made our case for this to no avail, but you are more than welcome to email [email protected] and plead your case how broke it is. Really sucks on Lathe/Mill when all the lathe tools stay in one view and then all the other tools goes 10 ways to Sunday and back and you have only used 2 milling tools.
