There is also a much less expensive solution for NC code machine simulation by Camaix. The simulation looks like the the standard Machsim add-on, but does handle NC code. Their product is called NCX2Check and it works within Mastercam. By the way, they also have an add-on for synchronizing lathe programs.See www.camaix.com

NcX2Check is ready to download at the support section of the Camaix web site. It works based on Gcode and Moduleworks MachSim. Currently NcX2Check supports table/table type 5 axis machines like Haas for Metric and Inch and some other control types like Heidenhain for metric machines.

 

Synclathe Level 2 for Multiturret Lathe synchronization goes with slightly modified Mastercam standard Fanuc posts and currently supports 2 spindle and 2 turrets. It is also based on Gcode and Moduleworks MachSim.

I work for CGTech and have been selling VERICUT in CA for 18 years. As has been already pointed out, most shops that buy VERICUT have multi-axis machines. But, we do sell to smaller shops. What often gets misunderstood is that the cost for a base seat of VERICUT (US Price) is $7,000. That will process very complex 3-axis g-code data. Most shops do not think $7,000 is expensive. It is when you add the many additional modules of VERICUT that the price can get expensive. One of those modules is OptiPath. And we do sell VERICUT and OptiPath to smaller 3-axis only shops. And this is why...If a shop has 8 machines that run 10 hours a day, they have 80 hours of machine time a day, 400 hours in five days, 1,600 hours a month. If OptiPath can save just 10% of that time, this company will save 160 hours of machine time a month, 1,920 hours a year. If the shop charges $50 per hour for machine time, that shop will save $96,000 in machine time a year. The cost to buy VERICUT, even for a small 3-axis machine shop, can be justified in just a couple of months. And the assumed 10% savings using OptiPath is very conservative!!!!! And who charges just $50 an hour? Nobody here in CA. So, the real world savings are much more than in this example.

 

In this economy, we are speaking with shop owners that are trying to save money every way they can. More than half my time today is spent with companies looking to implement OptiPath.
