Verification File CYS Origins

We are machining on a horizontal mill. WCS is always set to Top. Tooling and construction planes used are front, right, and left, (00_90_270 degrees.

The work piece is located on a database of the tombstone, the axis of rotation being the center of the tombstone with X Y Z origins also the center of the tombstone.

There is no problem with the machining or programming of the work piece, NC output is good and there are no other issues with machining. The issue we are cannot over come is the fact that when creating a STL file for verification purposes, the STL file origin is always located at the X Y Z of the tombstone and positioned with the same coordinates. Is there way to create the STL file so it will be positioned in the placed

positions ( T/C Planes) on the tombstone rather than defaulting to the WCS origins.

When you Save As/STL, you get an options button

next to the green check.

There are 2 options

"World Coordinates"

and

"Current WCS"

If you build a toolplane that reflects your desired STL location , the Current WCS option should give you what you need.

You can also use Xform/STL to move your STL to new locations.

edit.. the stock page also has a tool plane

button which you can use to control the orientation of stl stock files
