How do I keep from posting G41 on G02 G03 lines? This is a Mori Seiki horizontal post.

Be sure to use lead in/lead out with a straight line move and then G41 will post on the straight line.

 

I think the control definition may have a setting too but I can't remember exactly.

 

I sometimes have this issue on a finish pass of a pocket when I forget to specify the lead in/lead out.

you will get this error when you use control comp and set the lead in length under 50%

 

or in circle mill if your cutter is more than 50% of the finish diameter ex 1.000 bore with a .75 cutter won't work...

 

 

IMHO use wear comp it's way better than control comp

Yep, I forgot to mention that. Wear comp is the only way to go. In case you don't know what it means, wear comp posts the code out at centerline of the tool so the cutter comp adjustment is only a few thou instead of half the diameter.

 

I would NEVER go any other way again.

Yes, wear comp. a must!. and use tangent in lead in and lead out. This has worked for me even 1/10 of the tool dia.
