Be sure to use lead in/lead out with a straight line move and then G41 will post on the straight line.

 

I think the control definition may have a setting too but I can't remember exactly.

 

I sometimes have this issue on a finish pass of a pocket when I forget to specify the lead in/lead out.

Yep, I forgot to mention that. Wear comp is the only way to go. In case you don't know what it means, wear comp posts the code out at centerline of the tool so the cutter comp adjustment is only a few thou instead of half the diameter.

 

I would NEVER go any other way again.
