Hole Selection not following?

Why is it that when I select hole in, persay, a bolt circle, I get a very random selection of the points. Sometimes it starts where I start, sometimes its reverse, sometimes it starts on a random hole.

 

Always does them all, but not in the order I select.

Also to do bolt circles select automatic and pick the first hole then the second hole then the

last hole and it will do them in order

If you use "entity" selection, they we be selected in the order that they were created. I think this is ridiculous, but that's how it's designed. If you select them with the default setting (I think it's called point...the mouse cursor icon at the top of the selection options), then they will be ordered in the order that you select them.

 

Which is your preferred method of selection? Typically, I use entity and then window, since I usually have at least 30 point to select.

If you like to drill them in the order that you select them, but it's a pain to make sure you select the actual center point (not the circle, which is a much bigger target), use the point option, then from the autocursor override, right click on arc center. Right clicking will lock that selection. Now you can click the arcs (not the center point) in the order that you want to drill and MC will automagically select the arc center points for you. I always prefer to select the arc over the center point. Too many chances for error with the center point.
