It shouldn't be any different from anything else. I always do my RS-232 cables as follows: On both ends, jumper pin 4 to pin 5, and jumper pins 6, 8, and 20 together. Pins 2, 3, and 7 are wired straight through, though you may need to swap 2 and 3. Only 2, 3, and 7 need to be wired to the cable, but connecting pin 1 to the shielding helps.
