Haas 5 axis trunnion experts

We have a Haas VF6SS with a HRT210 5 axis trunnion table. We do a lot of small aerospace parts using primarily 5axis swarf and curve 5axis toolpaths to machine contoured and angled walls of parts with the side of an endmill. My problem is that I often get alarms for excessive feedrate using these toolpaths. It doesn't seem to matter what feedrate I program, if this alarm happen, it happens with any feedrate I use. I normally do not program much over 40 to 50 ipm on this machine using these toolpaths, but even changing these to 10 ipm does not solve the problem. I use these some machining strategies on out Makino A82 and A51 which are equipped with extra 5 axis rotary tables at much higher feedrates without any of these issues. Anyone else out there using these machines this way know of any way to get around these kind of problems? All of these programs are done with MCam and my post does change all of these feeds to inverse time.

We have 3 of these here. Never get any alarms like that. we do post out most of the feedrates using inverse. all the 3 axis and positional cuts are normal 10 imp to 80 ipm. the rotary paths are inverse 100 to 500. we set up a max feed of 500 ipm in the mmd.

I have had that issue when my inverse feed gets up over the max of the machine. The machine is not going to fast, but the code is like F45000. I increased my increment step a little bit and the number dropped quickly.

Don't do any 5 axis work but we do have a 210 head. This sounds like a setting or parameter. Check with your Haas rep. I have had this problem before and it was something like that. Don't believe it is a Mastercam issue.

You can try to edit your Control Definition to hold your rotary feed entry as Inverse.

 

You can also try setting your Haas to recognize seconds as the time unit used for Inverse Time Feedrates.

My post does output all roary moves in G93 inverse feed. Do you know which setting or parameter is used to set the time unit to seconds?

Assuming this is X look at the Control Definition. If that does not work then look in the post there should be a setting in there for that.

Still working on it. I am waiting to here back from the applications tech at Haas in California.

I sent him a sample program that would cause the alarm along with all of the settings and parameters as they are in the machine.
