We have a Johnford with a Blum laser toolsetter. I have my post hardcoded with the following so the tool will height off at every toolchange at the psof$ and ptlchg$ sections:

 

"G17G65P9902A3.", *tlngno$, "R.0002 W0.Z0", e$

 

That all works fine. The problem I'm having is when I'm machining with a raster program with a G18 or G19, then toolchanges to a different tool, then starts machining with another raster toolpath and the G18 or G19 is missing cuz the G17 canceled it during the tool touchoff. The fanuc will error cuz of the improper plane. I assume I was wrong by hardcoding "G17" on the toolsetter line as I stated above, but the toolsetter will error if NOT in the G17 plane. How would I go about fixing this?

You need to edit your post to force a plane change to G17, programmatically in the post, for the tool change.

 

You then force the plane output for the current machining plane immediately after the tool change.

Solved the problem. I removed the "G17" and added:

 

pbld, n$, sgplane, e$

 

above the toolsetter line. Now the post will properly output the correct plane.
