FLOW LINE CONTAINMENT

anyone having trouble with enabling the flow line containment bounndry button in v9.i have prompt for boundry set to yes button remains dimmed on flowline parameters page.

We all have the same trouble there is no contanment for flowline.

Tool Containment Boundaries are not an option in the flowline toolpath. However you are able to use the old fashioned trim function.

The Flowline toolpath doesn't use tool containment boundaries. It seems everyone types faster than me.

There is a new toolpath in V9SP1 which may give you better results and does use boundaries to calculate the toolpath. It is in the Surface-Finish-Project toolpath and is known as a Blend-3D. Read the "What's New in V9" document or talk with your local reseller to get some more information on this toolpath. HTH

Heavy load try what peter said that is a good tool it's new and some times I forget to mention it here.

But has been a great tool every time I have used it.

 

Also remember we are here to try and help along too.

For me the best part of the toolpath, surface project, blend, 3D is that you are never, ever so politely reminded that the surfaces do not lie in a row. This is an awsome toolpath though, you can have the flowline surface finish you are looking for while saving you time spent on creating surfaces just so you can run a flowline toolpath and then project it onto the less than perfect surfaces brought in from another package.
