G83 -LATHE

can anyone tell me how to add g83 to my lathe program?

I'm using mcam x4 and LATHE_HAAS_LS pst.

Most lathes that I have run are not capable of using a G83 canned drill cycle on a non-rotating drill. You could cheat a little and use the G74 canned face groove cycle, but that doesn't do a full retract between pecks. I think my Mori and Mazak C-axis lathes would allow G83 only on live rotary drill operations. I don't know about Haas.

Long Code on the retract does it for Most i believe on The Mori's its a Fanuc Option for them to flip the Bit Switch for about $2500

Haas lathes support G83 as a standard feature.

You'd need to edit your post to add the G83 output.

Cormigu,

G83 is standard on Haas Lathe.

 

1st, edit your control def, to enable canned cycle for peck. If your output is still longhand, you will need to edit your PST file.

 

If you also have C-axis on this lathe, be careful that changes also work with live tools.
