Importing Soildwork files dimensions?

Importing a Soildworks file design externally. They have gone paperless. There files do have dimensions if you open them in soildwork. I don't have soild works on my machine. Looking for a way to get this information myself. I've tried soildworks viewer and soildworks eDrawing with no luck. Has anyone else have this problem? Your help would be greatly apprecited.

If the viewer does not show them, I dont know what will. If you want, you can send it to me and I can open it with SolidEdge, save it as a MC file and send it back.

I cant do it til tomorrow tho, maybe someone here will chime in that has SE or SW and help you tonight.

Unless you don't have the proper version I see no reason that you can't see the dimensions UNLESS, your customer expects you to extract the dimensions from the model or the Solidworks data.

 

If you send me the file I will open it in solidworks and let you know what I can view.

If some one sends me a solidworks drawing file (*.slddrw) I can't open it with diminsions without the model (*.sldprt) file

That's true but you can open a .slddrw with e-drawings and then you don't need the .sldprt

I'm using X4 mu3 mastercam. Think that is the latest version. Cannot send file do to it being a proprietary part. I will have to just get soildworks installed on my work station and learn how to use it then. I was looking for a way not to do this.

You have the convertor to import the file into Mastercam? Or are you not wanting to have to analyze the file in Mastercam?
