Can't get G41 but G42 OK

I'm cutting wood type stuff all the time so use G42 right cutter comp. wear almost all the time.

 

My coworker wanted to left cutter comp something today and noticed the part is the wrong size, we start looking and notice the post won't put g41's into the code. Funny thing on a pocket with finish pass it puts out a G41.

 

I started checking and seems like the last version that worked OK was V9.1 MR0304(April 2004).

Having a Homer Simpson "dooh' moment with this but never use left cutter comp except with pockets so never noticed.

 

Any one have any ideas where to check MC or the post?

just below tool comp are you left or right of the tool.

If you mean on the parameters page its set for wear and then right comp direction ( most of the time) or it was set to left when it didn't generate the g41.

Other settings are tip, sharp, Infinate, and 2d contour.

comp is relative to chain direction and side. check your chaining arrows

I know how to chain something the correct way, the post just won't put a g41 into the gcode for left cutter comp it works fine for g42 right cutter comp.

Are you using a generic machine def/control/post or one that's been modified

by you/co-worker/reseller?

.....thinking that someone may have hacked on the post processor and forced out G42 regardless of your op settings

Been using the post since V7 but the last major change occured to get it to work right with V9.

Just need some direction as to where to look in post or ?

Who did the mods for V9? Did you make your reseller aware of your problem?

Reseller did.

I wanted to try to deal with it myself but it looks like I'm going to have to call them.
