Using Cimco as the editor

I can send a file to a machine. Works fine. But if I send another file to a machine without shutting the computer down and re starting it, I get a buffer overflow error.

What in the world do I need to do to fix this

Sounds like the software is not getting a signal to terminate the current comm link

 

Our machines require a % as the final block for the control to close this file and sever the transfer link back to the PC, you may need a special character, so check the manuals.

Also check to see if the Fifo buffers are turned off for that Comm port.

I've always had problems if that was set to ON

Just tried the FIFO buffer thing. didn't do it.

And I have a % sign at the end of program as well as at the begining

Do you work on the weekends Jim? My parents and my sister recently moved to Poulsbo to own and operate a Bed and Breakfast Inn.

 

I've been planning to drive over and see it one of these days. I'd be willing to stop by your shop on the way and help you diagnose the problem. The only snag would be that it would have to be on a Saturday or Sunday...
