Okuma V80R with Fanuc

We have a new vertical lathe. On this large machine Okuma has chosen to use Fanuc controls. 31i -Model A specifically. Any ideas on a post to start with and modify for this machine.

Kind of sucks really, but it fit the bill. This vertical lathe and bigger from Okuma only come with Fanuc controls. If you look at any of the literature they do not even mention it.

I'm not really sure on the post question. We don't have any verticals here, so I am not really familiar with them.

Unless you are well versed in post editing, I would give a call to your reseller, or In House.

It is most likely 'truly' an Okuma-Howa; they call everything Okuma now, but you'll notice that the only "Okuma" machines you'll typically see with a Fanuc are the ones O-H used to make, like VTLs. I don't know anything about VTLs, but the MPLFAN post was a solid jumping-off point for our Fanuc slant-bed lathe posts.

Nice observation on the Okuma-Howa. I will give the MPLFAN post a look. If it is too much I will pass it on to our reseller.

Sorry that is not correct. The user has a choice of Fanuc or OSP for the former Okuma-Howa range
