Ariel stick font

How can I get an Ariel font in Mcam that can be engraved by single center line contours? Thanks!

Good luck. The true type fonts are box type fonts. To get true arial you will need to spend the time making up your own from the wireframe. You might try raster to vector with a file from paint text made in the Arial font. Sorry I have not got better news for you on that one.

I was afraid of that. So far we've been using MC box, or stick I forget, and adjusting the A's and I's and other little things.

I haven't gotten a hold of it yet, but I think if you have Autocad and their Express tool for exploding text that might be the key. Becuase I think Autocads Ariel is stick.

Or, if you have the font you need, Create Letters.

When I create letters, it defaults to MCX (Box) Font Arial. It creates single center line curves.

MCX Box is slightly different from Ariel. MCX Ariel gives me outlines instead of centerlines.

In the Create Letters dialog box, the font is listed as MCX (Box) Font and if I click the TrueType® button next to it, I select Arial. You're saying that Arial is not Arial?

 

Following those steps gives me center line geometry.

Try selecting MCX (other) Font, the select the Box folder, (yes just the folder).

Then see how those letters look.

Doesn't work here. If I pick the TrueType Ariel, I only get outlines.

 

 

I think your just using MCX Box. Ariel is not a modifier to MCX Box.

I can select any one of the other fonts from the dropdown and it outputs the correct font (fancy cursive, etc), so it appears that it *is* a modifier to MCX Box. Sounds like something is hosed on your end.
