taper milling

Good Monday morning to all out in the land of chips and oil.

 

I am using MCAM mill around and edge with a tapered end mill (full tip rad).

 

When I verify the path, the tapered cut shows up as a staight end mill. Why is this? I am using verify to show me what the part will look like once it is cut, and this is not showing me what will actually be cut. What can be done for this, other than buy Vericut or Predator software??!!

in the verify setup choose tool description "as defined" and this should do it, providing you have a tapered end mill chosen as your tool.

That did not seem to work...

 

I do have a taper end mill picked, and in Verify, tool profile is set "As Defined"...

I'll eat those words. For some reason, not it works. It may have needed to be a reboot on my box. Thanks.
