Sorting tools in tool manager.

Hello...

 

Question, I would like to sort my tools by the tool number not by the tool type. The default setting is by tool type, Is it possible to change this default and how can I do that ???

Hi,

 

Go to Ncutilities/define tools/ current.

 

Click on the button names at the top of the columns. Tool number,, Tool Type,, Diameter ect.

 

You can also sort toolpaths in the ops manager

 

Right click in Ops manager. Choose, Sort operation/tool number/ascending-Descending.

In the Tool Manager, you cannot by default, sort on tool number. There is no setting for that anywhere. I put in a request for this feature last month. We'll see what happens....

Thanks for the info. Sorting that way works, but it would be nice to set as a default and forget about it. Do the people at mastercam react to request like this one ??? Do you think they'll add it to this V10 that there all talking about ???

What they do with requests depends on level of interest (how many people are asking for it), complexity of implementation and other factors.

 

Just on the surface, this seems to be a relatively easy implementation but I am a novice(at best) programmer and do not know the ins and outs of all that is involved. As for how responsive they are, well from my experience, they are very responsive and very receptive to customer ideas. If you send them a request, as well it pay push it up another notch.

Then describe to them what you would like/how you would like something to function. Be as descriptive as possible when communicating with QC as it will make their job easier and less cryptic. So, once again, it goes to [email protected]

You can sort on any field in the tool list. Just select the column header. They all toggle from ascending to descending.
