  1. quote: A tool speed and feed calculator that allows you to input the sfm, fpt, & # of teeth after you select that tool for your operation. Not all tools run the same sfm in the same material. There is one - do a right mouse click in the first page of any of the operation's parameters.
  2. quote: Wouldn't it be great it the Analyze Attributes function # of toolpath refs was expanded to show the actual operations that are associated with the entity. There is an option to select operations by geometry in the right mouse options menu in the operation manager. Select the "Select by geometry..." option, select your geometry, and when the operation manager returns all the operations that reference that geometry is now selected. Kinda does what you're looking for.
  3. Congrats on the job. Guess you'll be drilling swiss cheese for a living since Gibbs can barely do anything more. Good luck and visit often.
  4. CONGRATS!!! Now you have an excuse to put on the Darth Vader mask this upcoming Halloween and say... "Luke.... I AM YOUR FATHER" Sorry - I couldn't resist...
  5. You can sort on any field in the tool list. Just select the column header. They all toggle from ascending to descending.
  6. It has to do with missing or errors in drafting notes or dimensions. There was talk about this message a while back - but I forget what for.
  7. Mastercam should incorporate a "version control" type of auto-save where you can define the number of backup files to save. That way you can go back 3 or 4 (or whatever you've defined) versions of the last time you saved. part_0.mc9 part_1.mc9 part_2.mc9 part_3.mc9...
  8. Scan it into text via a scanner using OCR (optical character recognition) software. Reverse post it into an NCI format text file in Mastercam. Import the NCI text file into a 'merged operation' from the operation manager in Mastercam. Run verify. Your reverse post better be up to snuff or you'll probably lose a lot in the transition. Good luck.
  9. It's true. www.tracfone.com. Whenever she runs out of minutes and comes up with the cash she can buy more by buying another card (it's like those pre-paid phone cards you send them off on field trips with). Unless you meant I should expect a "Daaaaadddd.... I need money for more minutes otherwise you won't be able to get a hold of me..."
  10. Somehow one of your operation's toolpath section has gotten corrupted (stating the obvious, I know). The only way I've found to correct it is to copy the offending operation (drag & drop) and then delete it. The challenge is to find the bad one.
  11. Just had my 15 year daughter buy her own cell phone - a pre-paid "Tracfone" for $100 for one year and 150 minutes. No bills, no contracts, no activation fees. It's all on her nickel.
  12. "Just look around in this forum. Is there any Ford, GM, GE, NASA...employees here? No, they are using Pro/E, UG, CATIA...They are big guys." That's because these managers from large companies who write the checks and decide on the systems that they'll be forcing you to use are not smart enough to know the differences between the two (or five). They've been wined and dined by Catia, pressured and intimadated by ProE, and are afraid of looking like the ignorant fools that they are. They all sit there in the demo's with the glazed over look of "information overload" and leave the demo early with their pad in hand of to do "more important things". Luckily, for them, these behemoth systems have such a long learning curve and long time to get up and running in your shop that when 5 years later when they're still not getting any serious production out of them, the manager is either no longer to blame because he isn't around or the loss of $400,000 has been written off and amortized out of any pay raises you would have receieved (but never knew about). If any one of us who actually USE the different software pacakages were ever in the position to make the call, we'd look like heroes.
  13. Try bring the file into version 8 and then into version 9 (if you still have version 8 loaded).
  14. If I'm thinking right, I wanted to create a "start model" of my tombstone with a view for each side that will contain my work offset number. That way all I have to do is set my WCS to the side I want and just use TOP for the tplane and cplane. Sounds simple - but the toolplane 1014 line in the NCI says TOP, the 1013 line has the tool origin, and the 1027 line contains the view and origin I want. I'm no good with posts so I don't know what to change.
  15. The 1027 line in your nci file is the WCS's definition. I want to use the WCS and work offsets stuff for tombstone work - but my post only looks at the 1017 line (the tool plane) to detect rotation. How can I get my post to read the 1027 line instead of the 1017 line?
